ICC, It Is TIME To Do Something For Darfur.Now.


The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has requested an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on charges of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur. Some states have called for the United Nations Security Council to suspend the ICC’s investigation. The Security Council is expected to revisit this issue shortly. Call on the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. to remain firm in opposing political interference in the ICC’s investigation.

With stiff upper lips and phony grins, black Republicans are going to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota to be dissed by the party. Many will make believe they are down for Sen. John McCain — too afraid to come out the closet for Obama.

Since the 2000 and 2004 Republican conventions, a lot has changed for African American Republicans.

Black Leaders Call For Chicago School Boycott


Black leaders in Chicago say city residents should join a four-day boycott of public schools to protest what they say is unequal funding.

The Rev. Larry Trotter, an influential South Side pastor, joined the effort Sunday, telling his congregation that reliance by the state of Illinois on local property taxes to finance schools has created wide divisions in quality, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

"If schools in Winnetka and other areas can have state-of-the-art computer labs, then we ought to have the same thing in Chicago," Trotter reportedly said to loud applause at his Sweet Holy Spirit Church.
