I don't believe she's any direct kin to Sofia Coppola and fam, but I could be wrong. If she is, she isn't putting it out there.
She was signed to a Major label at one point, but she's too much of a box-breaker for the mainstream to handle. There's way too much life in this female for her to be desirably malleable as the mainstream seems to dig...
Her music has moved onto an entirely new level since she's gone the indie route thankfully.
Thank God for the itunes revolution.
There are phenomenal talents out there whose art we should all have access to.
