Mos Def Leaves Geffen

With the incredible lack of promotion Mos' last two efforts received, it's not a surprise he's leaving Geffen, who absorbed Rawkus Records while Mos was contracted with them. He's moving onto what we hope is a label with a wiser hive mind, Downtown recordings. His new label is the home of Gnarls Barkley and other creative artists with a capacity for depth.

You'd think Geffen would have wanted to make a profit on their investment... Foolish.
