Tutu Speaks Out Against Homophobia in the Church

I love me some Desmond Tutu, and applaud him for speaking out against the homophobia of the church. It's one of the reasons (including the editing of and plagiarizing of spiritual books openly admitted to by the Vatican... Why edit the word of God?) I don't deal with organized religion, and seek instead to connect with God through the heart, as suggested by a great many messengers in one way or another.

God is love. Why then so much focus on hate, fear, the judgment of others, restriction and the like?

Truth is simple.

More reality, less propaganda. Let's heal the world.
Less talk, more spiritual action for the real issues.

Desmond Rebukes religious conservatives:

“Our world is facing problems - poverty, HIV and Aids - a devastating pandemic, and conflict,” said Archbishop Tutu, 76. “God must be weeping looking at some of the atrocities that we commit against one another. “In the face of all of that, our Church, especially the Anglican Church, at this time is almost obsessed with questions of human sexuality.”

“It is a perversion if you say to me that a person chooses to be homosexual. “You must be crazy to choose a way of life that exposes you to a kind of hatred. “It’s like saying you choose to be black in a race-infected society.”
