Genetically Modified Oil Excreting Bugs

Scientists apparently haven't had enough of the completely depraved practice of genetic engineering, and have ignored the warning in the existence of genetically influenced Killer Bees to make oil excreting bugs. You heard that right. Money seems to be the bottomline for these fools, so they have created a bug that can eat wheat or sugarcane and excrete crude oil.

Yeah. If these creatures get out of their 'glass universe' and have some side effect that slipped by man's fallability, who knows what we'll be dealing with. I guess Solar, Wind and other natural technologies would just give too much power to the people in the end...
The project is called LS9 and they believe it will cause oil prices to lower to around 50 beans a barrel. They are set to become available by 2011.

Looks like we're on the fast track to a dystopian society.

This is a sickness! Corporate scientists f@#$%&&&& around with nature.

I'm sure you noticed that this news was released to the world from Britain. If I talk to my neighbor about this story, I'm sure to get a quizzical look.

I'm stumbling this one to widen the audience.

No more genetic modification of any life form! Plant and animal breeding techniques have been perfected for ages, old school.

Peace

Yes it is. It's like something out of a sci-fi flick. I mean art really can predict the future. This is so unnatural and dangerous I'm at a loss for words.
What makes it worse in the comments at Engadget's post about this were largely congratulatory. People seem to lose the larger point as long as they are promised cheaper gas...
Dangerous bargain.

I agree with your point that the UK gets this news but the American public is left clueless. These games really have to stop and this 'playing God' business is a threat the security of the natural beings on this planet.

Indeed, Oldschool breeding methods are just fine, especially when they are respectfully done in small quantities.

Hmmm . . .

I'm speechless. Life imitating art, life dies. Harness Wind energy and/or solar power is too difficult or too expensive?? I guess repairing the levees was also too expensive. I don't know. I'm forward this link to some folks.

Congratulations on the first year.

Craazy right? I mean what kind of fantasy world are these people living in? Planet Earth isn't an experiment or a toy. They need to get with the program before we live in a world eqivalent to Bladerunner's .

These cats (Not these cats specifically but mad scientists in labs just like them) have even created realistic robotic mates for men. Where does it stop?

I'm all for innovation but this is just insanity.

Thanks also for the congrats! Means a ton to me. Thankyou as always for stopping through and sharing your voice.
Would love it if you guestposted sometime. You have gems to drop. I've seen them.

Shine on
