The Modern Shaman- Lucid Dreaming

Despite the slight difficulty achieving it, Lucid Dreaming is possible (I speak from experience---Though I wouldn't call myself an expert), and can produce some very interesting results with a moderately serious Dreamer. Contrary to popular belief, it is not an OBE or astral projection experience, but rather one in which you are conscious while dreaming.

A favored mantra for Lucid Dreamers in training is: Am I awake or am I dreaming?

It is utilized at different points of the day when the Dreamer is awake, to get the psyche into the habit of asking the question. Overtime a dreamer will remember to say this to themselves while actually sleeping and dreaming. Once they realize they may be dreaming after this question alerts them, they can begin to check light switches and clocks in the dream realm, which will not function as they would in the waking world.

Wikipedia offers solid information and Lucidity Institute has a history of studying the phenomena.
The movie 'Waking Life' is an interesting source of information related to waking dream and consciousness, and an interesting site that covers Lucid Dreaming, even to the extent of providing training materials, is: LucidCrossroads
.

Visit Lucidity Institute beyond the the paisley Daisies, and you're on your way to walking lucidly within the dream realm

I can only hope to achieve this. I don't think I get that deep.

Thanks for the note at Hell on Earth I left a response. Too lazy to write it. I am in search of lucid dreaming.

^_^

I'll go check the post.
Thanks for stopping through.

My dreams have been very vivid and sometimes they become lucids, but I've given fluctuating attention to training myself so I haven't yet mastered it.

Interesting business though...
