Dumb it Down? Lupe Flatly Refuses.

*sigh*

This is one of the few inspirationally conscious reasons why Hiphop will recover and have a rebirth.
Those corporations gonna be mad about it.

Bless your bold beautiful heart Lupe.

I don't really understand the song. Aside from chorus the song doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Through the usage of a dramatic metaphor, Lupe's attempting to share that he refuses to choose the cash corporate powered music labels would throw at him to act like a buffoon, and perpetuate negative stereotypes that inspire the masses of folks who listen to 'dumbed down' music.
'Dumbed down' music creates nasty modern mythology in the unconscious mind of the listeners.
It sells the idea of lesser beingness to people so they don't aspire to empower themselves or transcend base drives that are toxic and harmful to society.
The dumber the masses, the easier it is for those who have preserved their minds (while planting seeds to damage everyone else's) to control us and profit from collective mental illness and apathy.

Thanks for stopping through ^_^
