Oh my that will be great. I heard Al Sharpton talking on the radio today about the "Jena 6". He had the nerve to say that when the hip-hop generations is in trouble they call on us, black leaders. Where are the hip-hop leaders. No, it's us black leaders you call when you need help. He is totally taking all the credit for the Jena 6.

I was under the impression that this was a movement that had a lot to do with the internet and black blogs, many of which cater to the hip-hop community. I believe this generations came together and got media exposure, before Al Sharpton dared to step in. Now he's going to be the face and take all the credit.

Sorry, I am irate. This is not a hip-hop issue, it's a civil rights violation.

On a more positive note, now that he is on board there will be more exposure. The rally is scheduled for September 20th and it should have a great impact in Jena.

Yay for the exposure, but its most unfortunate Rev Sharpton is perpetuating separatism amongst black folks. Elders shouldn't attack youth and vice versa. I would have thought him more intelligent than that. This has always been a unity issue.

We need to stop bashing one another.

And yes, black bloggers, Democracy now and freethejena6.org have been the foremost in spreading the word. This is long before Al Sharpton attached his name to the cause.
Let him talk though. The people that know, already know where they first heard about it. For me I saw the banners, and came across it when I visited the blogspot platformed -Electric Village-
The last thing this is about is ego. Rev Sharpton needs to be more responsible with his words, lest he hinders in the guise of helping...
